Reminder – Town Council Meeting 7pm Wednesday 19th December 2018
Sutton Coldfield Town Hall Town Council Meeting Reminder.
We have forwarded a proposal to Sutton Town Council requesting that an application be made to classify The Green at Dugdale Crescent and an ” Asset of Community Value”.
This proposal is due to be heard at the next full Town Council Meeting at 7pm on the above date.
We request all residents and interested parties attend if possible as we need as much support as possible to back this proposal.
The community’s right to bid on assets of community value is an initiative from the Localism Act 2011 and is now in force.
Local community groups can nominate a piece of land which use furthers the cultural, social or leisure interests of the local community.
If the nomination is accepted and the current owner decides to sell the asset, then community groups will be notified and can delay the sale of the asset, giving time to raise funds to buy the asset.
Any eligible voluntary and community organisation can make a nomination, and there is no fee associated. The council will consider the submission against a set of criteria, as well as consulting the owner. Once approved an asset remains on the list for five years.
The purpose of the A.C.V in our case, is the fact that in some instances it can delay, hinder or even discourage development upon the land from taking place.
Please help support our proposal by attending the meeting and offering your much needed support.
We look forward to seeing you there.
